Cheffy is operated by Zovie Software, LLC (“Cheffy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Cheffy mobile application and related services, including our website at mycheffyapp.com (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account, tapping “Continue,” or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility (18+)
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. By using Cheffy, you represent that you are 18 or older and can form a binding contract.
Cooking involves heat, sharp tools, and other hazards. You are responsible for using the Service safely and for supervising anyone who cooks with you.
2. The Service
Cheffy provides guided cooking experiences, including recipes, step-by-step video and audio narration, related media, library/search features, and optional subscription features (“Cheffy Pro”).
Some recipes, videos, narration audio, images, and other content in the Service may be created or assisted using artificial intelligence. AI-assisted content is still provided by Cheffy for general informational and entertainment purposes and is subject to the cooking disclaimer in Section 9. You should use your own judgment and follow safe cooking practices.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We do not guarantee that any particular recipe, feature, or content will remain available.
3. Accounts
You may need an account to use certain features. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information (including age)
- Keep your password confidential
- Notify us promptly at hello@mycheffyapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access
- Be responsible for activity under your account
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk for us, other users, or the public.
4. Subscriptions and payments (Cheffy Pro)
4.1 Apple billing
Paid subscriptions — including Cheffy Pro Monthly, Cheffy Pro Annual, and any free trial or introductory offer — are purchased and managed through your Apple ID / the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple account. We do not process your payment card directly. Available plans and prices are shown in the app at purchase.
4.2 Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (or as otherwise required by Apple). You can manage or cancel in your Apple ID account settings (for example, Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions), or via apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
4.3 Trials and pricing
If a free trial or introductory price is offered, details are shown at purchase. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged the then-current subscription price. Prices may change; Apple will handle notice and billing for price changes according to its rules and applicable law.
4.4 Refunds
Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not Cheffy. You can request a refund through Apple’s support or reportaproblem.apple.com.
4.5 Restore purchases
If you reinstall the app or switch devices, use Restore Purchases (where available) while signed into the same Apple ID used to buy the subscription.
5. License and intellectual property
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial cooking and personal use.
Cheffy, the Cheffy name and logos, recipes, videos, audio, images, text, software, and other content in the Service are owned by Zovie Software, LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, scrape, or create derivative works from the Service or its content except as expressly allowed by us in writing or by mandatory law.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service if you are under 18
- Break any law or infringe others’ rights
- Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorization
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Scrape, bulk-download, or redistribute our recipe media or content
- Use the Service to build a competing product by systematically copying our content
- Upload malware or harmful code
- Harass, abuse, or harm others
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
We may investigate and take action, including suspension or termination, for violations.
7. User content (limited today)
Today, user-provided content is limited (for example, profile photo, display name, preferences, likes, and similar personal data). You retain rights in content you submit, and you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and use that content as needed to operate and improve the Service.
You represent that you have the rights to submit that content and that it does not violate law or others’ rights.
If we later allow public or shared user-generated content (for example, user recipes or comments), additional terms may apply and we will update these Terms.
8. Emails and communications
By creating an account, you agree we may send transactional emails related to your account (for example, verification or password reset).
If you opt in to marketing, we may send emails about new recipes, product updates, or offers. You can unsubscribe at any time. Opting out of marketing does not stop necessary account emails.
If you enable push notifications, we may send notifications such as cooking timers or product updates. You can disable them in iOS Settings.
9. Cooking disclaimer (important)
Cheffy’s recipes, videos, timers, temperatures, and instructions are for general informational and entertainment purposes. They are not professional culinary, dietary, medical, or safety advice.
You are solely responsible for:
- Safe handling of knives, heat, oil, allergens, and food
- Following safe food-handling practices
- Checking ingredients for allergies or dietary restrictions
- Using equipment correctly
- Determining whether a recipe is appropriate for you
Cooking involves risk of injury, burns, fire, foodborne illness, and property damage. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cheffy is not liable for injuries, illness, or damages arising from your use of recipes or the Service. If you are unsure about a technique or ingredient, consult a qualified professional or do not proceed.
10. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties, including Apple (App Store / In-App Purchase), Supabase (authentication and backend), Amplitude (analytics), Cloudflare (media/CDN and website hosting), and email providers. Their terms and privacy policies also apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
11. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT CONTENT IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZOVIE SOFTWARE, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR CHEFFY PRO IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US $50).
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
14. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Zovie Software, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by emailing hello@mycheffyapp.com.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive termination.
Canceling Cheffy Pro is done through Apple, as described in Section 4.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding conflict-of-law rules.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there — unless applicable law requires otherwise.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or by email. If you continue using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription through Apple.
18. Miscellaneous
- These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service, and supersede prior agreements on this subject.
- If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Headings are for convenience only.
